Creative Partnerships – Senior Director

Consequence Media is hiring a Senior Director of Creative Partnerships to lead its growing Partnerships Team. Ideal candidates should understand the idea of organic and authentic digital media extension for brands and content creators alike, and will take ownership in bringing in new revenue-focused partnerships, and also lead ideation incoming on RFP submissions and campaigns, as well as playing a key role in developing the long term revenue strategy of the business and leadership the growth of the Consequence Podcast Network.

Ideal candidates should be self-starters with deep relationships in the music and entertainment industry and a track record of successful digital media partnership work. Tasked with leading sponsor integration efforts on a wide variety of projects from events and new original branded content to data application and email marketing, the ideal Sr. Director of Creative Partnerships is someone who is comfortable wearing a number of hats.

In the execution phase, the Sr. Director maintains oversight on campaign delivery and client sentiment, and keeps close contact with sales support staff who are responsible for the successful execution of campaign deliverables, tracking the progress of those deliverables, reporting to clients, and assuring that all parties meet deadlines.

The Sr. Director of Creative Partnerships reports directly to the CEO and leads a sales support staff to sell, execute, and retain business.

Primary responsibilities:

— Lead partnership efforts and new business solicitation.

— Manage and grow current client relationships of both advertisers as well as festivals, labels, and the music ecosystem..

— Take ownership of RFP process, including ideation, collaboration with editorial, working with marketing and graphics departments to tell the story of new business pitches and decks.

— Coordinate with editorial team to identify new opportunities for content sponsorship.

— Provide direction for sales support staff to properly communicate deliverables of closed business.

— Work with C-suite to develop & expand long term revenue strategies.

— Identify industry trends and make strategic recommendations to wider Consequence team.

— Grow Consequence’s reputation as an impactful digital media partner.

— Work with the Editorial team to lead and grow the Consequence Podcast Network programmatic and direct sales revenue and business unit.

Desired skills and qualifications:

— BA/BS (or equivalent training and experience).

— 5 years of experience in a partnerships/sales/biz development leadership role.

— Deep client and agency relationships relevant to Consequence and its audience (music, entertainment, and podcasts).

— Familiarity with Consequence Media and its audience.

— Excellent written and verbal communication ability.

— Highly proficient at Keynote and Powerpoint.

— Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

— Experience working Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, & Comscore with the purpose of developing reports for data based decision making.

— Experience leading projects and hitting deadlines, utilizing tools like Asana for organization.

— Ability to thrive and be highly effective in a fast-paced and fluid environment, as well as situations of ambiguity and uncertainty.

Social Media – Coordinator

This full-time position works in tandem with Consequence’s exisiting social, editorial, and business development teams to develop and execute our publication’s social media strategy. Candidates should be proficient in all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, et al.), as well as Facebook Ads Manager.

Primary responsibilities:

— Assist in management our various social media platforms on a daily basis. That includes the publishing and scheduling of relevant content; tracking the performance of said posts; and adjusting and optimizing content as needed.

— Work with our staff to create and execute social media strategy based on current trends.

— Work with our staff to ensure best social media practices are being carried out and assist in any necessary training.

— Assist in creating monthly reports tracking performance of social media postings and channels and make recommendations as needed.

— Assist in management of paid media campaigns involving social media.

Desired skills and qualifications:

— Minimum of two years of experience in publishing, social media, and/or audience development.

— Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. We’re a small, but passionate staff.

— Experience with analytics tools such as CrowdTangle, Chartbeat, and Hootsuite.

— Strong knowledge of Consequence’s content and the type of music, movies, and TV shows we cover on a regular basis.

— Experience in e-marketing is also ideal.

News Writer – Off Hours

This part-time position writes and edits music and pop culture stories during evening and weekend east coast hours.

Primary responsibilities:

— News writers will report to the News Editor and Assistant News Editor, authoring, researching, and sourcing breaking news headlines in music, movies, and TV.

— Larger investigative stories requiring original reporting, research, interviewing, and more may also be undertaken.

Desired skills and qualifications:

— At least three years of professional writing in the digital space, preferably in an active news environment.

— Passionate about and well-versed in current trends in modern entertainment and media, including where to find the most up-to-the-minute developments in the realms of indie rock, hip-hop, Hollywood, pop, and more.

— Proficient in social media, particularly audience engagement and information sourcing.

— Consistent work ethic with the ability to write and edit under the pressure of a constantly updating news cycle to produce insightful, timely stories.

— Strong familiarity with Consequence’s coverage scope and editorial style, while also driven to bring their own voice and coverage suggestions to the table.

— Strong industry connections a plus, as well as the desire to continually build and strengthen new relationships.
